About Us
Sharon Haven, the founder of ADU Aces, is a lifelong East County San Diego resident with more than 25 years of experience in land use and development. For over a decade, she has represented private property owners and worked directly with County planning officials on complex permitting and zoning matters. Today, Sharon has assembled a team of trusted professionals and turned her focus to one of the most important housing opportunities in East County: Accessory Dwelling Units (ADUs). With her expertise and community roots, she guides homeowners through the process of planning, designing, and building ADUs that meet County requirements while enhancing property value and livability.
Why You Need ADU Aces
We can save you time, cost and the stress of dealing with it yourself.
When a homeowner decides to build an ADU, it rarely happens in a vacuum. It might be prompted by elderly parents needing closer supervision, an adult child in need of support, or the opportunity to create rental income while boosting property value — but once the decision is made, it’s usually needed right away. Attempting to manage the project alone can waste significant time and money. How hard can it be? Doesn’t the County already have plans? The reality is that ADU design and construction is complex. County templates are generic, often unattractive, and rarely fit real properties unless the lot is perfectly flat. That’s where ADU Aces comes in. As a dedicated San Diego ADU builder, our focus is on three things:
Property Assessment – Evaluate septic, sewer, and topography to confirm your lot meets County standards for ADU development.
Custom ADU Design – Create personalized plans that reflect your vision, space requirements, and lifestyle while staying compliant.
Trusted Construction – Provide a vetted contractor who respects your aesthetic and your budget, supported by licensed subcontractors as needed.
With this process, ADU Aces makes it simple to move from concept to completion and build a custom accessory dwelling unit in San Diego East County that adds long-term value.

Why Consider An Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU)?
For most of us, our homes are the single largest piece of our financial assets. And yet, when we retire, that home we love must be liquidated in order to provide security for our remaining years. What if it didn’t have to be that way? An Accessory Dwelling Unit on your residential property could provide that necessary element to ensure financial security without changing your way of life.
There are many other good reasons for an ADU on your property:
A home for aging parents
A home for a Caregiver
A home for adult children
And, very important: Rental Income
Right now the County provides support to those attempting ADU development. They have waived many customary fees and even provide several basic dwelling plans. This generosity has a sunset date of 2024.
